Being the first day of Spring and with the weather girl predicting temps of 29 degrees for later this week, I’ve been inspired to post about some cheap beach gear I have been thinking of adding to our kit.
First things first! A day at the beach is nothing without tunes and SunnyLIFE do a fantastic battery powered IPod/MP3 Dock/Radio. We actually have one of these and I absolutely love it.
They are made of a durable plastic and your simply open them up and connect your IPod inside which helps protect it from the sand and water. You can get these online at www.beachchairsaustralia.com.au or at David Jones for $49.95.
Target have recently released these Willow 26 Litre Cooler bags which they are selling for $20. These are such a bargain I am going to pop down tomorrow and grab one for my family. They are also available in Target’s online store www.shop.target.com.au
And because I hate sharing drinks with my kids (they backwash), I’ll be stocking the cooler bag with these little drink bottles I ordered from Tupperware. Each one is 500ml and they are $29.80 for the set. Given that we usually stop at the service station and buy water on the way to the beach, I figure these will pay for themselves in one weekend! www.tupperware.com.au
For keeping out of the sun, I think this beach tent by Venus is incredible value at $39.95 from www.beachkit.com.au. (Big W have something very similar in style for $19.94 which is mind blowing)
If beach umbrella’s are more your style, Big W also has these for $39.94 (available in store or online at www.bigw.com.au ) and Beach Kit has a similar variety available online for $29.95
Beach Chairs Australia ( www.beachchairsaustralia.com.au ) also has these gorgeous SunnyLIFE beach bags for $39.95 (they are $59.95 just about everywhere else)
Although while I totally love this bag, and would love to have a stylish beach tote, with four kids, one of who is a baby, when we head to the beach I sacrifice style for practicality and use one of the massive Ikea blue bags which I got for $1.99 about 3 years ago.
It mightn’t be pretty, but god damn it can hold a heap of stuff!
